All About My Bookshelves!

Updated: Sep 5, 2023

Welcome to my world of bookshelves – I currently only have 2 so don't get too excited. In this post, I'm excited to take you on a journey through the heart of my home, where my carefully curated bookshelves come to life.

If you're as passionate about books as I am, you know the unique joy that comes from a well-organized and beautifully displayed collection. Whether you're seeking inspiration for your own bookshelf arrangement or simply share in the love of all things literary, you're in for a treat!

Bookshelf #1 - The Romance Shelf

This is easily my favorite bookshelf because honestly it's the prettiest. I was able to decorate this shelf more because there is more room and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Okay so the bookshelf itself is from Target for $28.00. I think it's a great bookshelf for the price. It's cute, a good size, easy to put together, and it's usually in stock so I didn't have to wait for shipping. I'm planning on buying another one soon because I'm sure I will run out of room on this one by the end of the year.

Here are some similar bookshelves I found on Amazon,

Now let's get into the decor!

For the top of the bookshelf, I added a picture frame (I have recently put a picture in it don't worry), a plant, a candle, and my candle snuffer. I got the picture frame and the plant from Marshall's, but I have linked similar ones that I found on Amazon! The candle is Mahogany Teakwood from Bath and Body works. It's one of my favorite scents!

Lastly, I got the candle snuffer in a set from Amazon that included a snuffer, wick trimmer, and wick dipper.

$8.99 $16.99 on sale for $12.99 $16.97

On the next shelf I put a little plant from Target and then on the bottom shelf I put another picture frame with a custom print I made. Click the link or the photo to buy this print on my Etsy!!

It comes with a pink, blue, and gray version for only $1!

This is such a cute print to display on your bookshelf! You could even hang it up on the wall or use it as a phone background!

Bookshelf #2 - The Fantasy, Mystery, and everything else shelf!

This bookshelf is from target as well and while I do like it, it's hard to organize. The cubbies are only so big so I can only fit a certain number of books in each one. As you can see, most of them are full so if I add any more mystery books to my collection then there is nowhere for me to put them. I think this shelf works best to display series like I sort of did on the top. My Shatter Me and ACOTAR series look great in their own cubbies. I plan on getting another one of the first bookshelf I showed you and I would not purchase this shelf again. I'll keep it to display series and books by the same authors though. In the top cube storage bin, I have bookmarks, book tabs, highlighters and pens, my reading light, headphones, and my book embosser. In the bottom cube storage bin, I have extra books that do not fit on the shelf and ones that I do not care to display.

Target: $45.00 Amazon: $64.99 on sale for $49.84

Target: 1 for $5 Amazon: 2 for $24.27 on sale for $7.64!

The top of this bookshelf could use some work, but this is what I have so far. From the left I have a Lego bouquet, a bath and body works candle, a wood sign, a plant, a shelf to display my crystals, more bath and body works candles, an electric candle lighter, my tbr, an empty picture frame, and a Himalayan salt lamp. Stay tuned for my fall bookshelf decor post because it will look a lot cuter than this!!

That's a wrap for now! As my book collection continues to grow, I am sure I will make another post in the future! There's something truly magical about the process of organizing and decorating a fresh bookshelf, and I can't wait to share that experience with you.

I hope you've found inspiration for your own bookshelf endeavors or perhaps stumbled upon the perfect gift idea for a fellow book lover in your life. The joy of a well-curated bookshelf is a gift that keeps on giving.

Stay tuned for my upcoming post, where I'll be decorating my bookshelves for fall! Fall is my favorite season so there will be lots of fall-themed posts! Happy reading!!
