TikTok has been a big influence in my life and while it did not physically make me purchase any items, people on the app definitely influenced me to spend my money. With creators constantly showing their favorite products, items easily going viral, and everyone talking about viral products, I have fallen victim to the "TikTok made me buy it" trend many times.
Body and Hair Care
First, I will share the body and hair care items that TikTok made me buy. I am sure that we all know and love the Tree Hut body scrubs and if not, this is your sign to try one. These have been popular on TikTok for a
while and deservingly so. I've repurchased this item many times and every scent is great. The scrub leaves my legs super smooth without irritating my skin.
The next body care item I have to mention is the EOS shea butter lotion, specifically the vanilla cashmere scent. I saw this lotion all over my for-you page and finally bit the bullet and got it. It smells so good, and the scent lasts a long time. I really like how it absorbs into my skin fast and leaves my skin feeling smooth.
For hair care, the first thing TikTok ever made me buy was the Revlon One-Step hair dryer. This product went viral on TikTok and of course I had to try it. It took a little bit for me to learn how to use it but once I did, I fell in love with it. I have to use a ton of heat protectant, but it makes my hair look great and you really can't beat the price.
The other hair care item that TikTok made me buy was the OUAI Hair Oil. I was looking for a good hair oil and was debating between this one and the Olaplex one. They're the same price but the OUAI one is 1.5 fl oz while the Olaplex one is only 1 fl oz. Both are pretty popular on TikTok, so I went with the OUAI and I'm so happy I did! If you're looking for a great hair oil, then you need to try this one. It has lasted me months and it makes my hair so soft and shiny.
Makeup and Skin Care
At least on my for-you page, there are always new makeup products going viral. I have bought many makeup products thanks to TikTok, but my favorite product would have to be my Rare Beauty blush. Mine is in the shade Bliss and it is such a beautiful shade for my skin tone. The blush is easy to apply and easy to blend (as long as you only apply a small dot haha). There are many other shades and with the size of the blush it will last me forever.
The next product I was not sure if I should include it in the makeup or self-care section. I never wear lipstick or even lip gloss, but I almost always have some sort of chapstick on. My absolute favorite that TikTok made me buy is the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. I love the vanilla one, it smells great and lasts a really long time. It isn't sticky and it gives my lips a great shine. I also have the Rhode peptide lip treatment and I honestly prefer the Summer Fridays by a long shot.
I've tried a lot of different skincare products because of TikTok. In fact, my entire skincare routine right now consists of products that I've seen on my for-you page. One of my favorites is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I have dry skin and I love how moisturizing this is without feeling super thick on my skin. It is great for every day, and it has lasted me a while.
It doesn't cause me to breakout, and I really do think it is worth the hype.
